MPC is happy to announce the January 2019 Heroes of the Month, Margaret “Midge” Reidenbach and her daughter Sue Fry!

Midge and Sue are members of The United Church of Christ in Devon, and were nominated by their Pastor, the Rev. Karl Duetzmann.

“Midge and Sue saw the need for another clothes closet dedicated to children in the city. They looked to the rooms formerly occupied by the church’s Teen Center in the lower level of the church and approached the church’s Trustees with their idea. With the help of other church members they rearranged the rooms and established the Kids Clothes Corner. The operation of the clothes closet is shepherded by Midge and Sue with other volunteers from the church.”

Kids Clothes Corner is open from 9:00 AM to 12 noon on the first Saturday of every month year round. The inventory is new and gently used items for infants and toddler from size 0 to 6 months all the way up to children’s size 16, and  rotates throughout the seasons. There are also loads of toys, games and other items. Everything is available for extremely low cost or no cost based on need.  All of the proceeds from this outreach program benefits a wide range of other mission efforts of the church. So far it has provided for food gift cards for holiday food baskets, as well as covering the cost of shipping health kits, school kits and layettes for Church World Service, and helping to provide and filling back packs for children and youth in Milford through the Salvation Army Service unit in Milford.

Thank you Midge and Sue!
