Joey is a true community hero and an inspiration for us all. Through his love for reading, he developed the “Joey Nickels” venture supporting the Literacy Volunteers.
Joey collects cans and bottles and cashes them, donating 2 cents from each deposit to the center in Milford. To date he has managed to cash in over 5,000 recycled items and has donated $125 to the literacy center. He has been working really hard to get friends and neighbors to join him by dropping off their bottles and cans in what has been a real team effort! All this for an 8 year old who has been doing this for just 2 months.
His parents (and the community) are so proud of him for taking his passion for reading and finding a way to raise money for a cause he really cares about!
